Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cans (15 oz each) baked beans
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra smokiness)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent (about 3 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Brown the ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  4. Mix the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with baked beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bake: Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.
  6. Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy as a main dish or a hearty side!
